A CIJ (Continuous Inkjet) printer is an industrial, non-contact coding system that sprays a continuous stream of charged ink droplets from a nozzle, uses electric fields to guide selected droplets to print text (dates, batch codes, barcodes, logos) on fast-moving products, and recycles uncharged droplets, making it ideal for high-speed, versatile marking on diverse surfaces like plastic, glass, and metal in manufacturing.
How it Works
- Ink Ejection: Ink is pumped from a reservoir through a nozzle, creating a continuous jet.
- Droplet Formation: A piezoelectric crystal vibrates, breaking the ink jet into thousands of tiny, uniform droplets.
- Charging: An electrode applies an electrical charge to specific droplets as they break off.
- Deflection: These charged droplets pass through an electrostatic field between deflection plates, which steers them to their precise location on the product.
- Recycling: Uncharged droplets are recaptured and returned to the system for reuse, ensuring efficiency.
